Quick Set Up:
- Hot route the runningback on a curl (optional).
Coaching Points:
- Works best against Cover 2, and Cover 3 zone coverages.
- Against Cover 2 zone, watch for the cornerbacks to see if they sink or play the hard flat. If they sink, it will take some time for the outside receivers to get open. If they play the hard flats, they will be open quicker as the corners don’t drop back as far.
- If the nothing opens up deep, look to throw to the runningback underneath. Keep in mind, you don’t have to hot route the runningback on curl.
- If the safeties cheat play outside, then look for the inside receivers running the seam routes.
