You finally find a Madden NFL 27 playbook that clicks, and then the question comes up. What else plays like this? Maybe you want a backup book for Ultimate Team, maybe your favorite team's book is missing one page you need, or maybe you just want something fresh that will not force you to relearn your whole offense.

Playbooks Like This answers that. Choose any of the 49 offensive or 37 defensive playbooks and it ranks every other book by how much they overlap, with the shared count and how many new plays each one would add.

Similarity is the share of plays (or formations) the two books have in common out of everything either book carries. 100% means identical.

How to Use Playbooks Like This

Pick your playbook from the dropdown and choose Offense or Defense. The summary card shows how many unique plays and formations that book carries and names its closest match. Below it, every other playbook is ranked by similarity.

There are two ways to compare. Compare by plays matches exact plays inside the same formation, so it tells you how much of your actual call sheet carries over. Compare by formations only looks at which formations two books share, which is better when you care about the looks and personnel more than individual play names. Each result shows the shared count and how many new plays the other book would add. Copy link saves the comparison so you can reopen or share it.

How Similar Are Madden NFL 27 Playbooks?

Less similar than most players assume. Team playbooks in Madden NFL 27 typically carry around 550 to 630 plays each, yet a book's closest match usually shares less than a quarter of the plays between them. The San Francisco 49ers offense, for example, is closest to the Texans at roughly 27 percent, with the Seahawks and Saints next. That means switching books almost always changes more than you expect, and it is worth checking before you spend coins or time learning a new one.

Defensive books overlap far more, with many closest matches above 60 percent, since many of them are built from the same Nickel, Dime and base 3-4 or 4-3 pages. That makes a defensive backup book easier to find, but the specific sets you rely on still decide the right pick.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the similarity percentage mean?

It is the number of plays or formations two books share, divided by everything the two books carry combined. A 100 percent match would be two identical books. Shared and new play counts are shown next to every result so you can see the raw numbers too.
