For this Madden Tips and Plays video breakdown, we look at the Gun Bunch Quads – Drag Under. We show how we like to attack Cover 2 press man coverage by creating a natural rub between the slot receiver and running back. This gives a chance to call a press man beater for a one-play touchdown opportunity.

Default Pass Routes Assignments:
Position | Assignment |
SE | Go |
TE | Cross |
SL1 | Wheel |
SL2 | Wheel |
RB | Drag |
Quick Setup:
- Hot route to tight end to stay in to pass block.
- Hot route the split in on a slant route.
Coaching Points:
- Against Cover 2 press man coverage, we hot route the tight end to stay in to pass block. The strong safety will slightly go inside, thus allowing the slot receiver running the wheel route to get more open.
- Against certain formations such as the Nickel 3-3-5 Wide, by sending the tight end in motion to the left, it changes up who covers the inside slot receiver.
- We can audible into the Gun Bunch Offset – Bert’s half-back under and run a similar passing concept.
- Cover 0 and Cover 1 coverage can cause some issues as far as the slot receiver getting open.
- Consider hot routing the split end on a slant route to give another option just in case the slot receiver’s wheel route is not open.

Final Thoughts:
The Gun Bunch Quads – Drag Under is just one example of a press man beater that can turn into a one-play touchdown. Of course, there are always counters 2 most passing plays found in Madden 22. That is why we always need other passing routes within the play to throw to, just in case our primary receiver is not open.
