In this Madden Tips breakdown, we look at creating same look different coverages. What this breakdown shows is how to go between multiple coverages while using the same defensive look.

Go into Coach Adjustments, then Auto Alignment, and then set it to Base. For more info on why this needs to be done, watch the Creating Same Look Different Coverages video breakdown at the bottom of this page.

The defense we start off with is the 46 Bear Under – LB Dogs. This is a Cover 0 defense.

Take control of the strong safety and move him in any direction you choose.

Madden Tip: He only needs to be moved in any direction.

In the image above, we move him about 1/2 yard backwards.

Next take control of the free safety.

In the image above, we move him down closer to the line of scrimmage.

We audible into 46 Under – Cover 2 Man defense.

Next, we audible into 46 Under – Cover 1 Man defense.

Next, we audible into 46 Under – Cover 3 Sky defense.

Finally, we audible into 46 Under – Cover 2 Press defense.

In all the defensive coverages we audible into, the defensive look and coverage looks the exact same as we started out with

By just moving the safeties, we are Creating Same Look, Different Coverages so that our opponent has no clue if we are blitzing, or calling some other coverage. This is a great way to keep your opponent off balanced and guessing if you are blitzing or not.
