For this Madden 21 Play breakdown, we look at a popular man press beater that many players will run called Gun Flanker Close – RNS Switch Dig.
The switch concept is a two-man route combination that works to both attack the field vertically against both zone and man concepts.
Later on the video, we will show this same concept but from a bunch formation look.

Coaching Points:
- The switch between the flanker and right slot receiver, the flanker
- will get a clean release off the line of scrimmage without being jammed.
- The switch between the split end and left slot receiver, the spit end will get a clean release off the line of scrimmage without being jammed.
- Video Breakdown.
- The split end is sent in motion to the right, he will line up to the inside of the right slot receiver and flanker. This creates a bunch look.
- If the play is run from the bunch look, then we suggest hot routing the right slot receiver on a drag.
- The flanker and split end will both get off the line of scrimmage from the bunch look. Both are good options to throw the ball to.

Final Thoughts:
The Gun Flanker Close – RNS Switch Dig is an excellent passing play from the Run and Shoot playbook that is a man press beater. With both the flanker and split end getting off the line of scrimmage without being jammed makes it a perfect man press beater to call any giving point of the game. By sending the split end in motion, gives the play another look, while still using the switch dig passing concept.
