For this Madden Tips breakdown, we show how to create defensive match ups by moving around are best pass rusher. We do this so he is match up with a weaker offensive linemen.  By doing this, it will allow him to get on quarterback quickly.

In the image of above, notice that 49ers Nick Bosa lines up at the right end position. He is the 49ers best pass rusher and is an in 20. We want to get him matched up against with weaker offensive linemen.

The Cardinals weakest offensive linemen is A.Q. Shipley, who lines up at center. Notice he has an overall rating of 65.

We don’t want globally sub Bosa in every defensive formation, the weak side defensive tackle position. Instead, we want to have him line up at the weak defensive tackle in certain formations. For this breakdown, it’s the nickel normal.

To achieve this, we press the subs button, this allows us to move Bosa to the weakside defensive tackle position in just the Nickel Normal formation.

The defensive we use for this breakdown is the Nickel Normal – Cover 1 LB  Press. The offensive play called is the Gun Doubles – Curl Combo.

Notice Bosa is now at the weak defensive tackle spot.

By doing this, we are looking to create pressure from three different defensive linemen.

Madden : by creating pressure from three different angles, it doesn’t give the quarterback many options to move in the pocket.

The snaps the ball. Bosa uses his X-Factor ability to blow by the weaker offensive linemen.

Bosa heads towards the quarterback. We control the right end and get pressure from the left side of the offensive line.

: by moving Bosa inside to the weakside defensive linemen position, he now has a shorter to distance to get to the quarterback than he would of if he was lined up at right end.

As a result, Bosa the quarterback for a loss.
