For this Madden Plays breakdown, we are going to show how to bring the inside heat with the 46 Normal – Cover 2 Invert. The 46 Normal – Cover 2 Invert isn’t your traditional Cover 2 zone defense. Instead of the corners playing covering the flats, they cover the deep halves of the field. Two other defenders cover the flats instead. For this breakdown, we are going to show how we like to get pressure from this defense by making a few pre-snap adjustments.

Final Thoughts:
If you are playing in a Madden Online Connected Franchise League, the 46 Normal – Cover 2 Invert is good to defense to call because it requires no pre-snap movement. It also is very simple to set up. If you decide to set up this blitz, keep in mind that there are now six pass rushers. This leaves just five defenders playing zone coverage. Make sure to take control of the free safety playing the mid-read hook zone. Patrol the short middle of the field while looking for receivers in that area of the field. Since this is a Cover 2 defense, the deep middle of the field is left open. Hopefully, the pressure will get to the quarterback before any receivers get down deep over the middle of the field.
