Quick Set-Up:
- Hot route the middle linebacker to bluff blitz.
- Move the middle linebacker between the strong side defensive tackle and left end.
- Release the middle linebacker and switch to another defender.
- Call press man coverage (optional).
Coaching Points:
- The pressure is designed to come from the right end.
- If there is an X-Factor or star left end, there is a good chance he will also get pressure on the quarterback.
- There is no guarantee that pressure will always come from the right end with this setup.
- Since this is Cover 0 defense, it’s a high risk/high reward defensive setup.
- By adding one defender dropping into zone coverage, it helps take a way quick passes over the middle.
